Crowdsourcing defined

Kaggle’s concept of crowdsourcing number crunchers looks to be winner as companies sitting on voluminous amounts of data connect with the best and the brightest to find models predicting user behaviour.

As this infographic from, courtesy of highlights, crowdsourcing is already a key feature of today’s corporate world and the practice has its fair share of true believers and critics.     

Kaggle’s model does address a number of the downsides outlined in the infographic and that could be the key to it becoming the dominant player in the data analytics business, which is potentially worth millions.
