Auction site sued for Ab King Pro fakes

Abstracted from The Australian Financial Review

An importer is suing online auction site, TradeMe, over the sale of counterfeit goods. Brand Developers is the licensed importer of Ab King Pro exercise machines. It claims that thousands of counterfeit machines were sold through the New Zealand-based site, which is owned by Fairfax Media. It is suing TradeMe for an undisclosed sum in damages because it claims that the trading site did not do enough to prevent the sale of the counterfeit goods. Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy succeeded in a similar action against eBay. Originally published in the "Sunday Star Times"
