Telstra bill likely to be delayed: report

It is unlikely that Senate debate on the federal government's proposed changes to the telecommunications laws will be concluded this year, according to The Australian Financial Review newspaper.

The changes, which could lead to the partial break-up of Telstra Corp Ltd, are due to be debated in the Senate on Thursday, which is the final day before parliamentarians break for summer holidays.
