Accounting software provider MYOB, has launched a new application programming interface (API) which allows developers to integrate the company’s flagship products into their own enterprise IT apps and solutions.
The move comes as part of MYOB's new strategy to release APIs for its accounting software. The company said that this first release would be followed with the launch of APIs for more its products later this year.
This current release is available as a beta and harnesses two MYOB products, AccountRight and AccountRight Live.
MYOB platform strategy manager Paul Greenwell said that the API is causing quite a buzz, with over 65 developers already tapping into the tool.
“The opportunities are endless for developers to create and integrate apps that make business life easier for AccountRight clients,” Mr Greenwell said.
“They can create apps for our accounting solutions using any programming language, for multiple platforms such as Mac and Windows, and for devices running iOS, Android and Windows Mobile operating systems,”
Developers looking to harness the API need to register their interest with MYOB before gaining access to the tool.
