Telstra unwraps 4G tablet hybrid

Telstra has teamed up with Toshiba to release Australia’s first Windows 8 Ultrabook hybrid with built in 4G connectivity.

Toshiba’s hybrid - the Portégé Z10t- is now available through Telstra for three months on a range of plans from its launch date on June 11.

The Z10t runs on a third generation Intel Core i5 CPU with integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics, and features 4GB and a 128GB solid state drive. There’s also a model that runs Intel Celeron CPU, which is basically a run of the mill consumption device.

The Portégé Z10t is available for $90 per month (including $50 Tablet Plan and $40 device payment after MRO bonus) which comes with 8GB of data to use in Australia per month (0.61c/MB) for 24 months.

It’s also available with Telstra’s Entertainer Max bundle, which includes 200 GB of home internet, 500MB of mobile broadband to use in Australia (excess usage 10c/MB), T-Box, Foxtel on T-Box Get Started package and calls (fixed line and standard mobile) for $185 per month over 24 months.

There’s a $59 activation fee for new Telstra home broadband customers and the service is not available in all areas.

The Toshiba Portégé Z10t is Telstra’s 29th 4G LTE product and the device launch comes just days after Telstra switched on its 1,500th 4G base station.
